The Best Coffee Shops in London

A cold coffee in the summer or a hot one in the winter is the perfect way to enjoy the streets of London.Check out this list of the best coffees to try while wandering around the city. Each of these coffee shops has a unique story as well as great coffee.Let's start loading up on caffeine:

Hagen Espresso Bar

Let's start with a Danish coffee project that originated in Copenhagen. They make drinks with the claim of "the best coffee in town" that highlight Danish coffee's uniqueness and sustainability. It's a great place for people who want a quick coffee break or those who want to relax and have a nice conversation in samtalekken/hygge style. The Hampstead one is my favorite, but they also have some other locations in London.

Monmouth Coffee

Taking its name from Covent Garden's charming Monmouth street, Monmouth Coffee Company is a must-visit for coffee lovers. It was founded in 1978 by a powerful family who owned more than half of Covent Garden, including Neal's Yard, before artisanal coffee was cool. They always combine freshness and quality with world-class coffee beans. As part of its environmentally friendly policies, cardboard cups aren't sold. It's possible to sip your coffee in front of the shop with a cup. Make sure you bring your own mug if you're going to take it home. You can also get reusable cups for an extra charge. Don't forget to get a coffee to take home :)

The Attendant

Stop by The Attendant for quality coffee in an unusual setting. With its unique concept, this cafe opened in 2013. The former men's restroom turned into a modern venue in Fitzrovia is just a five-minute walk from Oxford Street. As a result of two years of planning and restoration, the cafe has won over Instagrammers with its amazing design and original vibe.Brunch and breakfast are also good.

Hjem Kensington

A cute coffee shop in London's royal district, Hjem, doesn't have any branches anywhere else and there's always a line. That's why I'm always interested in places like this. In the Danish cafe Hjem, meaning home, Scandinavian dumplings (especially cardamom buns) go great with organic coffee. Rather than sitting here with your coffee and snacks, you can go for a pleasant walk to Hyde Park.So no calories to worry about.

Ralph's Coffee

Located in the Ralph Lauren flagship store, Ralph's Coffee is one of the most popular places for tourists. These stores aren't just trying to make money, they're trying to make their brands more popular and raise their prestige.Old Bond Street has exactly that kind of vibe.Inside the store, there's a cute cafe with great coffee. With every sip, you can observe people who shop in luxury stores saying "what a life...". Especially during the holidays, the decorations are almost stunning.

The Gentlemen Baristas

Gentlemen Baristas has a stance behind the counter as well as in public. I love it.By presenting the coffee experience in an elegant way, these Gentleman Baristas bring a different perspective to the world of coffee.Branches are located in many districts of London.Providing high-quality coffee and creating a cozy, warm atmosphere are their main goals. They're a "well mannered coffee" shop that treats customers well, respects suppliers, and tries to be a good neighbor. Baristas in the coffee industry are predominantly male, which was the inspiration for the name.

Redemption Roasters stands out for its social responsibility projects and high quality coffee. They work directly with coffee farmers and make sure they're treated fairly. In addition, they train baristas to strengthen society and reintegrate criminals after their criminal cases, giving them a better start. There's even job opportunities in their shops, what more can they do?

Roasting Plant

This coffee shop is one of those success stories that started in a garage.Roasting Plant Coffee, from America, uses a special roasting and brewing system called Javabot.Founder Mike Caswell installed it in his garage.Mike's love of coffee, industry experience, and understanding of engineering and business processes led him to create Javabot.A state-of-the-art system roasts in every store at the Roasting Plant, and every cup is brewed in less than a minute. So this coffee shop guarantees a fresh coffee experience every time.

Kiss The Hippo

Let me introduce you to the world's most conscientious coffee shop. Kiss The Hippo has been playing an increasingly powerful role in ethics since it opened its first branch in Richmond. The coffee beans are sourced directly from farmers. As well as supporting Rainforest Trust UK and National Literacy Trust, the brand works with Just a Drop water, its packaging is biodegradable, its food menu is made with local ingredients, and its roasting shops are 80 percent more efficient than old-fashioned ones. It's more fuel efficient. As well as a clean production process, Kiss the Hippo's baristas make amazing coffee. My favorite beans are Guatemalan.

Dear Coco

This list would be incomplete without my neighborhood coffee van. On a riverside walk in Chiswick, you'll find this cute coffee van with really good coffee. It's also inspiring to hear the story of Anthony, the founder of Dear Coco! While he's a marketing director for an international company, he runs a coffee business in his free time.As a dad of three, Anthony's productivity and drive are truly inspiring.Whenever you're in Chiswick, skip the chain cafes and go to the riverside, where you can enjoy both delicious coffee and the River Thames.

Our coffee journey doesn't stop there, of course. In London, you'll find many coffee shops with unique stories and tastes.Let's hope this journey enriches your palate and makes you enjoy coffee even more! (The list is made to my tastes, no ads or collaborations)
